Privacy Policy
Launchpad ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Launchpad waitlist and pre-release service. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and what rights you have over it. By joining the waitlist or using this website, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Data We Collect
- Email address — collected when you join the waitlist. Required to send your confirmation, queue position, and product updates.
- Referral code — a short identifier tied to your signup, used to credit referrals and compute queue position.
- IP address — logged at the server level for rate-limiting and fraud prevention. Not stored long-term in our application database.
- Page-view events — anonymous beacon events (visitor ID stored in
localStorage) used for aggregate traffic analytics. No cross-site tracking.
2. How We Use Your Data
- Send you a confirmation email when you join the waitlist.
- Calculate and update your queue position as referrals arrive.
- Send infrequent product updates and launch announcements. You can unsubscribe from any email.
- Detect and block spam or abuse via rate limiting.
- Understand aggregate traffic patterns to improve the product.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your email for advertising.
3. Data Storage
Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Neon and served via Render, both operating in US-based data centers. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit (TLS).
4. Third-Party Services
- Postmark / Polsia Email Proxy — transactional email delivery (confirmation emails, position updates). Your email address is passed to this service only to send you messages you requested.
- Render — application hosting. Server-level logs including IP addresses may be retained per Render's own data policies.
- Neon — managed PostgreSQL database hosting.
We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other parties beyond those required to operate the service.
5. Cookies & Local Storage
This site does not use tracking cookies. We use localStorage solely for two
purposes: persisting your referral code between page visits (cleared on signup), and
storing an anonymous visitor ID for aggregate analytics. No cookie consent banner is
required because we set no advertising or tracking cookies.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Deletion — request that we delete your email and associated data from the waitlist at any time.
- Unsubscribe — opt out of all emails by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@example.com. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Data Retention
We retain waitlist data until you request deletion or until the product launches and migration to the main product database is complete. Anonymous analytics events are retained for up to 24 months.
8. Children's Privacy
This service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has submitted their email, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated by email or a notice on this page. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
